Nathan Nobert, son of Lisa Rohr was welcomed as a guest

Announcements
-Tim spoke about giving Tuesday which is an annual giving day of global generosity. The day is focused on giving where people are encouraged to donate to the charity of their choice.
-Rotary Cares tickets for the 2027 draws remain available to sell. Please see Lou for tickets.
-Lisa mentioned the importance of members getting their Vulnerable Persons Records check in preparation for our incoming exchange student. A VPRC is for all vulnerable persons, not just youth and is a requirement stipulated by Rotary International. Checks you obtained for other organizations are likely acceptable for Rotary.
-Lisa also mentioned that our club is not allowed to provide monetary support for host parents, and it was suggested grocery gift cards could be donated to the club to then be passed on to host families. Centra Cam is currently having their annual grocery gift card fund raiser and if anyone is interested, contact Lou to purchase cards.

Feature Program - Meet a Member - Grace Doucet

Grace has two first names - Heather Grace but she prefers to be known as Grace. She is married with two children, one in 1st year at Augustana the other in grade 9 at the Comp. Grace is currently working at Sole City Shoes where she has been for the past 5 years.

Grace’s first involvement with Rotary began in 1997 when she applied to Rotary Youth Exchange and in 1998 she was an exchange student in Japan. After all this time, she can still carry on a conversation in Japanese. Grace says the exchange experience opened her eyes to the broadness and diversity in the world and inspired her to pay it forward.

Upon returning from her exchange, Grace completed her grade 12 in Red Deer and then did 2 years of post secondary at NAIT. From there she entered the workforce and lived in Calgary. She was married in 2004 and after the birth of her children, the family moved back to Camrose where they enjoy the closeness to family and community.

Grace enjoys coaching soccer which she has been doing continually since 2013. This year she is coaching a U15 girls team. Soccer involves about 8 hour/week of her time. Other community things Grace is involved include the City Transit Committee, volunteering with the Rose City Roots Music Society and the Camrose NDP Constituency Association. She also spent 10 years as the president of the school council. In her free time, Grace loves reading and is seeking a book club.
